“As 2022 comes to an end and we start the 2023 financial year we have been reviewing our financial year end, and we are very pleased to say that we've had our most successful financial year both from a revenue and profitability perspective in 2022.

I wanted to make a few notes to talk about our relationship with Drone Safe Register and how it's helped grow up business over the last three years.

I see a lot of comments from people on certain Facebook groups and other drone groups that can be quite negative at times about the membership of Drone Safe Register and the value that's a business can get by being a member of DSR.

Personally, we think that DSR membership is of great value, first because of the social networking aspect of working with other drone operators but also the ability to be seen as part of a larger and more professional drone community which helps any drone business with traction and credibility.

We've had many inquiries via DSR, some have come in via the instant quote system and some have come to us directly after finding us on the drone safe register website.

Some of these have been in the form of just general enquiries for one or two small pieces of drone work, however due to the nature of some of these businesses we have been able to develop the inquiry and generate much greater revenue over a longer period with each of these accounts.

As always this comes down to the professional way to handle the relationship between the client and as the service provider with how we develop an added value service for that client that they can then offer as an extra value-added service to their own clients.

To this end we have successfully closed several major transactions with large multinational corporations on a wide range of drone related projects.

One of those accounts is a large international construction company where we have worked on a regular construction site project for progress monitoring, the project started in the lockdown of 2020 and continued all the way through 2021 and 2022.

The total value of this project was over £20,000 over the two-year Time frame.

The second project of a decent revenue was for a major motor vehicle manufacturer, which started as a simple lead for a monitoring project at the start of 2020 and continued through 2021 and 2022.

The total value of this project was £42,000.

The third project which also developed into a decent revenue stream in 2022 is for a UK based higher education establishment, involving regular traffic monitoring of significant road networks in the United Kingdom.

The total value of this project was £41,000.

The fourth significant project which came to us because of a lead passed to us directly by Drone Safe register was with an international defence contracting business on a drone payload testing programme.

This programme took place towards the end of 2021 and continued in 2022 with more projects occurring in 2023.

The total revenue of this project so far has been over £124,000.

In total from just four projects that stemmed from an initial lead provided by Drone Safe Register we are pleased to say that we have invoiced over £227,000 in the last two years.

Of course, this has also meant we have reciprocated with an investment in many new drones and related products from the Drone Safe Store.

In the last year, we have purchased the following kit to help with the projects mentioned.

Two DJI Matrice M300 RTK Drones

Extra Matrice TB 60 Batteries

Additional M300 Enterprise Controllers for Dual Op missions

Matrice M300 Accessories

DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced

DJI Mavic 3 Cine Fly More Combo

DJI FPV and Fly More Kit

DJI Avata and Fly More Kit

In total we have spent over £37000 with Drone Safe Store, and every investment we have made has generated a significant contribution to our recurring revenue stream.

I think you will agree that from the small investment to become a member of Drone Safe Register this has paid for itself many thousand’s times over.

Impact Aerial would like to thank Mark and the rest of the team that run Drone Safe Register for all of the help and support provided since we became a member and we will continue to be members for as long as our business is running.”
