March Newsletter - Drone Safe Register™ Industry News

Message from Mark:

The past 12 months have been very difficult for so many people and I can honestly say I have never worked so hard in my life.

Personally, I feel that we have achieved a lot as a business and it is worth noting that this is only possible with the kind support and loyalty from our members, some of whom have been with us from the very start.

I am very proud to run Drone Safe Register™ and represent some of the very best in the business, and I have no doubt things will start to return to normal one the next few months.

With many businesses returning to work for the very first time in 12 months, I am confident our new platform is ready to serve the general public, with all of their aerial requests.

Key features of the new website include:

New indexed service options and information

In addition to these features, we have re-launched the new and improved Aerial Stock Library; with location search features, organised categories and reasonable stock prices for projects that require an aerial perspective to boost engagement but don’t have the time or budget for bespoke aerial data collection.

We continue to work on implementing new and improved services each week so make sure you’re following us on social media for updates on new features that make the process of finding and hiring trained, safe and insured drone pilots quick and easy!

International Women’s Day

On the 8th of March, we celebrated International Women’s Day by taking a look back at our interview with Psyona Williams, one of our professional members.

We looked further into the ways in which we can encourage diversity within a male-dominated industry and ran a promotion for newly joining female members.

Although this promotion has now ended, please feel free to contact our membership advisor, Max, should you have any questions regarding our available membership options.

Home Office Announcement -

The Home Office has confirmed that the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and the NPCC (National Police Chiefs’ Council) are joining forces to act on drone crime.

The new campaign has been announced for the UK following a record high of 336 drone-related crimes within the last 5 months.

‘Operation Foreverwing’ comes shortly after the introduction of new drone laws in the UK (brought in at the beginning of January, imposed by EASA) which has seen an increase in the confusion surrounding the safe and legal use of drones.

The new campaign will see an increase of dedicated teams across the UK that will be tasked with enforcing the fines and confiscations of drones if individuals are not sticking to the rules. The campaign will also seek to encourage further education regarding the laws of drone flying while reminding the public of the consequences of not following the rules.

Looking forward - what’s coming next for Drone Safe Register…

We are looking forward to continuing to implement a number of additional services through our website and planning lots more exciting content and competitions throughout April, including a huge announcement coming on the 28th, so make sure you’re following us on social media to keep up to date!
