It’s been a steady month in the DSR office, probably due to the approaching holiday season. We are seeing an increase in Drone Event Bookings as summer is officially here.

The store has been very busy, with Tom rushed off his feet sorting orders for the incredible DJI Mini 3 Pro. There’s always a lot of excitement around a new product launch but this one really has been a game-changer. Some of the images and footage captured on the Mini 3 Pro by members have blown us away! If you haven’t checked it out yet we recommend you take a look at the spec and see what all the hype is about for the Mini 3. Whether you’re a Hobbyist or a Professional Drone Operator, this drone has something for everyone.

The other big news this month is that DSR are on the move! We are relocating to bigger premises that will be more practical for the way we like to run our hands-on business and welcome customers for face-to-face meetings. The new premises will also make it more practical for member events and we’ll be announcing more on this soon.

Start of Summer

Summer is the perfect time to fly your drone. Whether you are a hobbyist or a Commercial Drone Operator it’s the perfect time to get out and fly. Blue skies make the perfect backdrop for aerial shots and the longer days make it the perfect time of year to capture locations at sunrise or sunset.

If you’re a Commercial operator and don’t have a lot of work on it’s a great time of year to shoot some stock images and footage. Don’t forget the DSR stock library is one of the member benefits. Images and video clips of tourist spots, seascapes, lakes and rivers are always in demand.

Let's see what summer has to offer

Due to covid, we haven’t had a “normal” summer in 2 years, so we’re optimistic about the coming weeks/months. Use of drones at the Queen’s Jubilee and recent Pride celebrations have raised the profile so we hope to see more demand for event work. It’s also the wedding season and there are still some that have been postponed (sometimes more than once!) from the pandemic months. The property market is also booming so we expect to see continued demand for aerial property shoots and estate agent work.
