3D Mapping & 360° virtual tours from Drone Safe Register

Hundreds of pre-checked CAA approved and insured commercial drone operators available for hire nationwide.

Many of our members specialise in drone data capture to create 3D maps and 360° degree virtual tours.

3D mapping demand is taking off in many of the UK’s business and industry sectors.  To cater for this surge, sophisticated 3D mapping software applications have been launched to help commercial drone pilots capture data and to enable end users to view aerial maps from a three dimensional perspective.

3D Mapping is fast, safe and affordable with our DSR members.

Drone mapping offers HUGE advantages for all manner of sectors including:

  • Construction

  • Agriculture

  • Mining

  • Infrastructure

  • Real Estate

  • Land Management

  • Energy sectors

  • Renewable sectors

Many of our members can create 3D models to within centimetres of accuracy using the latest processing software and ground control points.

Having a clear, accurate photograph or 3D model of your project area, complete with measurements, is extremely beneficial for decision makers and and project managers.    It can help decision makers make informed decisions based on accurate measurements and visualisations that provide a holistic view of the subject matter.

Our members’ technology eliminates the guesswork when it comes to judging a range of data.  DSR members can help you save time and money on your surveying project.

Photogrammetry

Aerial 3D Mapping is undertaken with drones using a technique called Photogrammetry.

Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs. The output of this is normally a map or 3D model of a real-world object or scene.

Many of the maps we use today are created using photogrammetry and images taken from manned aircraft.

Mapping with drones is very similar to this, the main difference being the low altitude a UAV can fly.  Low altitude enables higher quality image capture.
