We are proudly the first UK UAV organisation to launch this new and much needed aircraft registration program for our members.  There will be some similarities of the DSR register to the regulations introduced by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) in the USA, earlier this year.  All Drone Safe Register pilots can now register their aircrafts from 1st May 2016.

This register will provide huge benefits to authorities and our responsible members who conduct safe and legal flights on a daily basis, we now have registered pilots and crafts.  With incidents such as last weekend, a BA Airbus A320 arriving from Geneva being hit by a Drone at about 1700ft whilst descending over the Richmond Park area, growing concern is mounting. We would like to offer complete peace of mind for our customers seeking drone hire services.

Chief Superintendent Martin Hendy, head of the Metropolitan Police’s aviation policing command, said the incident highlighted “the very real dangers of reckless, negligent and sometimes malicious use of drones”

A UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesman said it was “totally unacceptable” to fly drones, which are generally used to capture aerial film or photographs close to airports.
