The largest network of professional drone operators is ready for take-off again.
Great news for private and commercial businesses
We have been closely monitoring the lockdown and assessing Government advice to ensure drone operations can be carried out in a compliant manner. Risk assessments have been updated and advice on social distancing taken into account.
The warm weather through the lockdown period means roofs have dried out, so now is the time to think about booking a drone roof inspection. The property market has been frozen since March, but if you’re thinking of a move why not book a drone property shoot to help sell your home? As the nations largest network of professional drone operators we have the complete range of services and a key account service for large volume deployments.
It’s been a very tough time for most industries since the UK lockdown was announced on March 23rd.
Drone operators are no exception. The nature of the work of course involves travel, and this hasn’t been possible over recent weeks. The uncertainty remains, but with positive signs the horrific rate of Covid-19 infection is coming under control our members are gearing up to get back to work.
Needless to say, a professional drone operator is used to working to codes of practice and with a focus on risk assessment and control.
As Government restrictions begin to ease all DSR members will keep a constant eye on developments to ensure compliance. We will communicate to members and open discussions with the Civil Aviation Authority, Police and other regulatory bodies to ensure all operations are safe and legal.
Some drone work has continued within the lockdown period but with all necessary precautions and only where there is a strong case for necessary travel. In most cases the drone operator doesn’t need to come into any form of physical contact with a client or enter their home or business premises.
So long as there is a suitable area for take off and landing within guidelines a drone can be launched from a garden or car park near to a property. In some cases a drone can be some distance away from the subject and capture images with its onboard zoom lens.
Camera poles and extending masts are another option and some members within our network are experienced with this equipment.
A crisis like the pandemic drives innovation, and drone operators are adapting to this new world very quickly. Live streaming footage from a drone is a great example. The client can view this remotely and tell the pilot where to point the camera and what images to photograph.

Members also contribute to our UK aerial stock footage service, so we have thousands of aerial images and HD video clips ready for instant download.
Supporting the Government and NHS will always be our focus in the pandemic, but Drone Safe Register and our members are looking forward to getting back to work.
