Airmageddon is a brand new futuristic game show
Launching this weekend with a huge thumbs up from the Drone Safe Register Team, the high-tech drone action programme on CBBC.
Airmageddon is a brand new futuristic game show that promises to take viewers to new heights.
Devised by Steve Carsey, the producer of the original Robot Wars, Airmageddon features precision flying, airborne battles and spectacular crashes from the amazing setting of the Airena – purpose-built for drone-based competition. Inside the Airena, teams of Aviators control their high tech, customised drones, taking part in an entertaining spectacle of aerial skill, conflict and fast reactions in three dimensions.
In episode one, four teams enter the Airena for the very first time, but only one will battle through the three rounds and rise to victory, securing a place in the series semi–finals. The teams face each other – and the show’s resident drones – over a series of jeopardy-filled elimination rounds. Who will survive the high flying Airsault Course, who will put in the best performance on today’s skill test The Drop and ultimately in the Dogfight, who will be the top dog?
Will Best, master of ceremonies, controls proceedings with the Aviators from our central control tower with an unrivalled 360-degree view of the action. Meanwhile, behind the reinforced walls of the Airena, the teams design, test and customise their machines between rounds in the workshops, supported by Airmageddon’s technicians and interviewed by Rachel Stringer.
The winning team of each episode will return later in the series to compete again in the semi-finals. The winner of the semi-finals will secure a place in the series Grand Final, when Airmageddon will crown Britain’s Ultimate Aviator.
A huge congratulations to the production team.
