What happened in 2022?
We wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your support in making the Drone Safe Register the premier destination for finding qualified and insured drone pilots in the United Kingdom. In the past year, we have seen tremendous growth in the use of drones for a wide range of applications, from film and television to agriculture and real estate. As the demand for these services continues to rise, we are committed to providing our members with the resources and support they need to succeed in this exciting and rapidly-evolving industry.
Looking ahead into 2023, we’re prepared for another tough year but remain optimistic about the growth of the drone industry. We plan to invest further in marketing the value of drones to UK industries and raising the positive profile of safe and legal operators. We’re extremely proud to see the success some of our members are enjoying and of the cooperative community of experts, Drone Safe has become.
New Drones in 2022
We saw many drones released in 2022 but three stand out as the main drones our members were interested in and bought.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro is a favourite amongst Hobbyists and Professional Operators as it is the most advanced sub 250g drone. The Mini 3 Pro features a big 1/1.3 inch sensor that’s capable of detailed 48mp stills and stunning 4K HDR Video. As the Mini 3 Pro is sub 250g it’s an ideal drone for roof inspections.
The Matrice 30 Series is a professional-grade drone designed for industrial and enterprise applications. It is rugged and reliable, with advanced flight controls and a range of sensors for enhanced situational awareness. One of the main features of the Matrice 30 Series is its IP55 rating which means you can fly it in any weather condition.
The Mavic 3 Enterprise series is made up of 3 drones, the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, DJI Mavic 3 Thermal and DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral. As always, please call us if you’re thinking of an upgrade but aren’t sure which is the best model for your needs.

Upcoming Events
Our conferences and events have always been a great success and are a great opportunity for the Drone Safe team to meet members. We are moving into larger premises this year and this will make it easier for networking events and ‘fly before you buy’ sessions. As previously, we’ll have guest speakers and make every event an opportunity to network with like-minded operators, learn new skills and just have some fun.
