Arbroath
Carlingheugh Bay (also known as The Flairs in Arbroath) is located to the north east of Arbroath, near the northern end of the Seaton Cliffs Nature Trail.
The bay's elevated shoreline, which is surrounded by red sandstone cliffs, was formerly home to a small town. There are ruins of an ancient boathouse at the top of the bay, and in the past, fisherwomen from neighbouring Auchmithie would come here to harvest seaweed.
