Commercial UAV Show 2016

This week Drone Safe Register (DSR) is blogging about our attendance at The Commercial UAV Show!

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week the 3rd annual Commercial UAV Show took place in London’s ExCeL convention centre.

The show is Europe’s biggest dedicated commercial UAV event which showcases both current and next generation civilian /commercial applications. And what an experience it was to be there we can tell you!  With over 100 exhibitors neatly organised (well packed!) into one of ExCeL’s impressive exhibition halls, the two day event was quite literally buzzing from start to finish!

For DSR being at the UAV show was inspiring and a testament to a thriving and growing drone industry here in the UK and all over the world!

It was a pleasure for us to meet and see so many fellow people connected to the industry including media partners, show sponsors, speakers, UAV manufacturers, drone pilots including many DSR members, prop companies, battery companies, mapping organisations, The British Antarctic Survey team and of course inspiring drone enthusiasts to name just a few!

DSR was very privileged and honored to be invited to share an exhibit stand (Stand number 89) with our training partners Cambridge UAV Academy (CUAVA). The exhibit’s drone centrepiece drone (revealed below) was supplied by DSR member Helicopter Film Services Ltd.

Perfectly situated in a large open space next to the Geo Connect open conference section the footfall of enquiring people drawn towards the stand’s centrepiece exhibit was pretty constant. It was The Aerigon Mk II and Alexa Mini on Stand 89 that stole the show but, just by on hand, were the DSR and CUAVA team ready to answer a million and one questions all about professional drone training, what drone applications to use and how to take your commercial drone business to the next level!

The Demo areas were great to witness and featured the latest drones in action with commentary, explanations and demos of the drone capabilities whilst in flight!

Companies featuring in demo zones included Inspecta the inspection specialists, Korec, Mirabot, CUAVA, Aibotix, Yuneec, Unmanned Life, Skye, Sky Futures, Flyability and SenseFly.
