DSR to Offer Support to All Call Signs
DSR are very proud to be supporting the All Call Signs, not for profit organisation, who work with veterans and serving military personnel to offer mental health support.
All Call Signs offer a peer to peer app with a chat service staffed by Forces experienced volunteers who understand the specific struggles that come along with life in and out of uniform. They work with media outlets to highlight the issues of current and ex service personnel and promote awareness of the mental health issues that they may suffer from – believing early recognition and diagnosis can make a real difference. As well as offering a much needed listening ear, they also offer a ‘Beacon Service’ and this is where DSR will be lending its support.
As soon as a vulnerable member of the military community goes missing, time is of the essence to achieve a positive outcome. The Beacon is a geo-location powered emergency response application which immediately alerts All Call Sign members and relevant local agencies so they can formulate an appropriate response. UAVs may be important asset in these Beacon searches and will hopefully allow at risk individuals to be found and assisted fast.
Mark Boyt says, ‘All Call Signs are doing amazing work in improving the wellbeing of those who have served. If our network of professional drone operators can help in any way, then we’re honoured to play a part in what is a proven system’.
Dan Arnold, co-founder of All Call Signs said ‘When a Beacon goes out, every second counts. Through this new partnership, we can get eyes in the sky before we put boots on the ground. We have previously utilised UAV assets in Beacon searches and they’ve proven invaluable, so we are really pleased to offer nationwide coverage using the Drone Safe Register to bolster our ability to reach at-risk individuals when they need us most. ‘
