Drone Safe Register Members Really do Feel the Benefits

We spend lots of time telling people within the drone community exactly how being a DSR member can offer great advantages –

From support and resources through to lead generation and stock footage sales income – but for this blog post we thought you might like to hear it from the horse’s mouth.  Danny Rutterford of R.D-Rutterford Droneography (www.rutterford-droneography.co.uk) has been so impressed with the benefit he’s already had from his membership, that he is telling people all about it on his website .

Danny is relatively new to the world of commercial drone pilots. He says that he’d only been qualified for a couple of months before he stumbled across DSR in the course of his desk research. He’s also new to the world of business ownership as a whole, having been a mechanic by trade.  So he recognised that support in some of the more unfamiliar aspects of running your own business would be more than welcome.

Still, he didn’t sign up to DSR on a whim – he took the time to mull it over and chat with our founder, Mark Boyt, on a number of occasions to make sure that it was an investment that was really worth his while.   At the end of this consideration, he decided to take the plunge and sign up as a pro member (there’s also a special membership for hobbyists which you can find out more about here)

Professional Membership to the Drone Safe Register costs just £195 for the Year including a profile on our searchable UK network to put you on the desktops of potential clients in your area, access to contribute to the stock library, access to the Facebook Closed Group network and lots of other useful resources.

He took the time to complete the first task that you get when you become a DSR member – to set up his member page with his contact details and to upload a great showreel.  We can’t stress enough how important this is. When potential clients are searching our network for qualified drone operators in their area, you really want your ‘shop front’ to be looking its best.   As a result of all this hard work, in the first two months of his membership, he received two great business leads which he’s more than happy with.

He’s also a fan of the DSR stock library which you get access to as a member for free, plus you keep all the money earned from sales. The DSR Stock Library is the UK’s largest drone stock footage searchable database by location all created by our qualified member network.  He makes sure that he regularly submits his work there pulled from both his practice flights and client work  – another great opportunity to create a revenue stream with assets that you already have.

Danny has also taken advantage of the networking opportunities available to DSR members, both in the closed Facebook group and also through direct contact with Mark.  The group’s experience in all areas is vast and it’s a very supportive environment with members regularly sharing tips, advice and even work where they can.

He had actually already become a member before DSR took the leap into the Dragons’ Den but really feels that investment that we gained there is a ‘game changer’ (we certainly agree with him there!).  Peter Jones and his team have the potential to not only use their investment to let us improve the services we offer our members but also to bring awareness of the type of work that drones can be used for to the wider UK audience.

So, another satisfied customer an we look forward to seeing R.D. Rutterford Droneography and DSR can achieve together in the future – happy flying Danny!
