Award Winners Announced

It is with a great deal of pride that Drone Safe Register announced the winners of their 2018 awards.  We were flooded with entries and this once again confirmed that we have some of the best drone pilots in the UK as members in our growing organisation.

The Category

The Film & TV Aerial Imagery Award – sponsored by Coverdrone. Among our members, we have some most talented cinematographers in the industry who are behind much of the footage that you see on both your television and on the big screen. This category looked to reward excellence in this creative aerial field.

And the winner is…

Harry Cartmell from Papercut Media for his aerial filming work on The Silent Child.

The Category

The Best Commercial Drone Application Award – sponsored by Qlaims.  The UK Drone Industry is still in its infancy and new applications for UAV technology are being found all the time.

And the winner is…

Mark Galluzzo  from Mag Film with this promo for Trik – a cutting edge company that use the aerial mapping to  help their AI engine learn to process structural imagery and identify faults requiring human intervention.

The Category

The Best Drone Photo Award – sponsored by Jessops.  There’s no doubt that a camera in the sky is capable of capturing some stunning imagery from a brand-new perspective.   This category was looking to reward photographic excellence from a camera in the sky.

And the winner is…

Jason Smith from Cinecloud with his first of two awards – a really outstanding year from him.  This beautiful image of the i360 was captured in Brighton and showcases an unusual angle on this popular tourist attraction.

The Category

The Best Showreel Award – sponsored by Drone Safe Register.  Your showreel on your DSR member page is your chance to show the viewing public exactly what you are capable of and we have some stunning work already in place

And the winner is…

Once again, Jason Smith from Cinecloud with this stunning showreel.   It’s the perfect example of how to show your potential customers exactly what kind of work you do and the quality of your UAV filming and photography.

The winner from each category is in line to receive a £200 cash prize and of course, the pride of knowing that they have won from a vast amount of truly outstanding competition entries.  Thanks to all of our talented Drone Safe Register members for taking part and showcasing the versatility of the drone.
